Grooming Instructions and Brush Maintenance

CQP Originals Instructions & Maintenance

Our original 360 Gold Wave Brush instructions from 2011: The 360 Gold Wave Brush ( now also known as CQP Originals or OG brushes ) is the hairbrush of choice for anyone desiring a well groomed look in far less time. It’s contoured shape allows more bristles to come in contact with your hair; resulting in natural, uniform waves. The 360 Gold gives you a soothing sensation as it massages your head, gently pulling your hair into place. After your first use you will see and feel the difference.

How To Properly use the 360 Gold Original Wave Brush

  1. Read entire instructions before use.

  2. To get fast results, begin with a low and even haircut.

  3. Brush your hair in your desired direction: Starting out using straight and slow brush strokes. You will notice the 360 Gold’s curved design and extra long bristles gently pull and smooth your hair into place.

  4. Brush your hair in the direction that your hair naturally grows. If you are not sure of the direction, brush in your desired direction.

  5. Brush hair using long straight strokes. Keep a straight brush stroke; this creates a more uniform wave pattern.

  6. Brush each section repeatedly multiple times. The more consistent you brush in the same direction, the more trained and uniform your waves will become. The 360 Gold covers a large area of your head, so it does not take very long. You can also use “Crown Supreme Pomade” to help condition & lock your wave pattern in place.

  7. Let the hairbrush bristles do the work; do not try to press too hard. Allow the bristles to gently pull and snap your hair into place using long straight strokes. Try to brush your hair and not your scalp; the goal is to pull the hair, stretching it into a wave.

  8. Lastly, tie your hair down using your “Crown Diamond Quilted Du-rag.” Wear overnight for best results.

See pictures that accompany these instructions above.

    Crown Original Wooden Brush Maintenance:

    • Do not boil hairbrush in water. If bristles are too firm, rinse your hairbrush for 3 minutes, and dry. Bristles will soften over time.

    • Do not crush bristles.

    • Clean out debris regularly with our “Crown Brush Cleaner”. You also can use a dry brush cleaning solution found at most barber and beauty supply stores.

    • We do not recommend soaking your brush in water. Most brushes you may be used to from your local beauty supply were made of composite wood. Our brushes are made out of solid wood, this is why our brushes have a beautiful natural woodgrain. If you notice composite brushes have a painted on woodgrain effect. Real wood works a lot better, but in water they expand, and once dried, contract, this may cause your brush to crack or split. Use our “360 Sport Wet / Dry Brush” for your shower brush.

CQP 2.0 Wet/Dry Brushes Instructions & Maintenance

We pack a lot of bristles into each brush; this in part is what makes CQP brushes the most effective wave brushes on the market. Premium brushes may shed bristles with the first few uses. Bristles will stop shedding generally after the third diligent use.

  • For medium to hard bristle hairbrushes: If bristles are too firm at first, use the brush in the shower or run under hot water. After repeated use the bristles will soften.

  • Use “CQP Brush Cleaner” to remove lint, hair and other debris. Use a “CQP Brush Bag” to protect your brush from debris when not in use. You can also store your brush in our “Wooden Velvet Inlay Box” to protect it from air born particles.

  • The 360 Sport Crown & Caesar brushes are safe to use underwater, and do not crack, break or split for life.

  • The most time efficient way to achieve 360 waves is to start with a low and even haircut.

  • Brush your hair using long straight strokes. Keeping a straight brush stroke creates a more uniform wave pattern. For lightning fast results, use your medium to hard ( we suggest hard ) 360 sport brush in the shower under water; this will give you deeper wider waves.

  • Apply “CQP Deep Conditioning Hair Pomade” to your hair, then tie your hair down using the “CQP Diamond Ultra Compression Du-rag”. Wear overnight for best results.

  • The 360 Sport Crown and Caesar 2.0 hairbrushes are only slightly curved. Results have shown that it straightens, and stretches your hair more than our Original CQP brushes.

  • We do not suggest you boil your 360 sport wave brush. To clean, use a dry brush cleaner solution found at most barber and beauty supply stores. You can also run under scalding hot water, and clean out debris with your “CQP Brush Cleaner” utensil.

360 Wave Grooming Tips & Secrets

  • Shampoo & condition your hair at least once per week. While rinsing shampoo & conditioner from your hair, use your hands to smooth your hair down in the direction of your wave pattern.

  • For very deep waves, wear a du-rag with a stocking cap over it ( our Diamond Du-rag is made this way ); This flattens and compresses your hair more. Wear overnight. When you take your du-rag off, brush your hair with a hard to medium bristle hairbrush and then with a soft hairbrush. This will give your waves a deeper look.

  • Let the hairbrush bristles do the work. The secret is to attempt to brush your hair without brushing your scalp. The 360 Gold wave brush bristles will snap and gently pull your hair into place. Remember: When brushing follow through past your hair line; This will make sure your hair line is laying down, and is ready for a sharp lineup.

  • If you find it very difficult to get uniform waves, try this: Once you see a wave forming, bush the wave more and more following it around the head. You are attempting to make it ( connect ) as long and continuous as possible; The waves that will naturally develop in front and behind it will fall into place resulting in a uniform wave pattern.

  • For deep waves, brush your waves in your hairs natural growth direction; once the waves are uniform ( in rows ), brush your hair at a slight angle; This pulls and stretches the waves into a very deep wave look!

  • One well kept secret is after you brush your wave pattern in and your waves are in uniform rows, apply a natural relaxer in your hair and this will make your waves wider, and bigger. You can achieve this same effect without using a relaxer. Use a deep conditioning protein treatment, and it will not damage your hair like a relaxer, but straighten and nourish it! Also you can look into the raw egg method, and this works as a deep conditioner.

  • For more defined waves, research the different methods of waring a stocking cap while in the shower and shampooing your hair.

  • If you have straight hair and desire waves; try Curl and Shine Smoothy Conditioner, with a curl activator. Then use a sponge, and attempt to curl your hair even more. Then brush.

  • Results may very, try different techniques until you find what works best for your hair texture

Beard Brushing / How to Achieve Waves in Your Beard

Note: The hair on your face is often more coarse than the hair on your head. For the more mature man, the hair on your face tends to grow faster than the hair on your head. But your beard can also be trained and waves achieved with CQP brushes. For beard grooming we suggest you use our Beard brushes or a our King brush. Follow the steps below for best results:

  1. Cut beard low and even.

  2. Use a fine tooth comb and comb your beard downward or in your hairs natural growth direction.

  3. Brush your beard in your hairs natural direction using long straight strokes. Allowing your hairbrush bristles to gently pull and smooth your hair into place. We recommend a hard, medium, or medium-hard brush to begin with. While brushing your face, try puffing your cheeks out; this allows you to brush your beard hair straighter on a larger surface.

  4. Use “Crown Organic Beard Oil” to keep your hair healthy and manageable. We suggest you use every other day. For more hold use our “Beard Butter” 2-4 times a week.

  5. For faster results comb, and brush your beard under running water while in the shower when you are shampooing and conditioning your beard. Use a hard or medium brush while in the shower.

  6. Train your hair under your jaw and neck area first, as this is the most difficult section to train.

  7. Comb your beard out and brush with a very soft brush, like our Mohair or Cognac brushes.; This will give your beard that beautiful silky luster and lay any loose strands of hair.

*Be patient. Grooming your beard will take time, but you can significantly cut down on the time it takes if you use our beard oil, as it softens and lays your hair extremely effectively.

CQP Supreme Deep Conditioning Hair Pomade & Beard Butter Instructions & Tips

Infused with some of the most expensive, natural ingredients, CQP Supreme Pomade will deeply condition your hair leaving it more manageable, softer, fuller, and silky while giving your hair an unparalleled deep luxurious shine.

  • Use no more than a quarter dollar amount at a time.

  • Place in hair while hair is damp. This will allow you to straighten your hair while brushing. Applying to your damp hair increases the absorption of the pomade, and adds a deeper layer of conditioning. Ware du-rag after brushing until your hair is fairly dry.

  • Placing pomade in dry hair allows you to brush and go with or without waring a du-rag.

  • After washing hair, wait 12-24 hours before placing pomade in it. For example, if you wash your hair at night before bed, brush your hair only and put on your du-rag overnight. In the morning it is ok to place pomade in your hair. This allows your hair to bounce back to its fullness ( when you wash your hair it gets slightly thinner, as you have removed all the buildup that lays on top of your hair follicles ). In the morning place pomade in hair.

  • We suggest to use pomade only every other day.

  • Wash hair at least once a week.

  • Follow the same instructions when grooming your beard. Our Beard Butter has the same ingredients as out pomade except for one key difference; It has more spikenard oil in it. Spikenard oil helps to soften coarse stubborn hair and promotes growth.

Diamond Quilted Du-rag Instructions & Tips

The Diamond Du-rag took many years to perfect. You will see and feel the difference in one use. Please read and follow instructions below.

  • Wear at least 2 times per week for deeper waves. Wearing every night is ideal when you are first starting out.

  • After wearing, remove and brush your hair in desired direction.

  • During initial use, hair may appear a little out of place but you will feel the suction and compression immediately. After brushing your hair, you will notice a difference in the depth of your wave pattern.

  • The Diamond Du-rag compression, along with the diamond stitching locks the du-rag in place. The du-rag locks so effectively that even if it comes untied during sleep it does not move.

  • The Diamond Du-Rag is reversible ( can be worn inside-out ). Stocking material on top, or stocking material on bottom. Try both ways to see what works best for your hair.

  • Do not place metal tips in mouth. A small piece of wood is located inside the brass tips, and can cause choking. This product is not recommended for children 12 years old or younger.

  • Cut any loose strings with scissors: do not pull or tug loose strings.

  • Hand wash in cold water; hang dry.
